Week 3 and a half

The past week of King fishing on the Kasilof has been inconsistent, however, the guides of Drift Away Fishing have still been able to find some great fish and come away with a few limits. Only 3 more days remain for the 2011 King season stay posted for the final results!

This past week on the Kasilof was a bit slow, but nice fish still came to our boats. We expect the fishing to pick up this week, the tides are dropping and many Kings are stacking up outside the Kasilof. Here are some photos from Nigel's July.

1st week of July

The first week of July has been one of the best in years!! Drift Away guides have been getting into some nice fish between 40 and 50 lbs. It seems that Nick has been the ladies man this week with three 42lb girls and one 35lb girl. More pics to come from Jeremy and Nigel.

Another great week of King Salmon fishing for Drift Away. The Kasilof is still producing numbers of chrome Kings. Nigel landed and released a 53lb Kasilof King, while Nick found a 38.5 lb King on the Kenai River. Trout fishing on the Kenai is also fishing well, 20-40 Trout are landed daily, with opportunities at fish over 25". Jeremy found a beautiful 25" Rainbow on his last trip.

Kings on the Kasilof are still fishing well. Drift Away Guides are averaging 6 hook ups a day, and landing 3-4. We're optimistic that the end of the first run will remain productive until the 2nd run Kings show up.

Kasilof Chrome

Here is Nick and Gary with some Kasilof Chrome. The Drift Away crew was on the Kasilof yesterday and boated 9 Kings! Several others were hooked, but did not make it to the boat. It looks like this week is going to be a good one! We are all excited!
