September Rainbows

September on the Kenai River was a challenging fishery. The Snow River ice damn broke flooding the Kenai, as the water just started to recede a mini hurricane hit the Upper Kenai system, once again bringing the water levels back to flood stage. Despite tough conditions the guides of Drift Away Fishing still were able to find some nice Rainbows.

Might not be long, but she sure is fat..... 26"x17". The past few days have been good Trout fishing on the Kenai, it is only going to get better and fatter!

The last few days of Kings season 2011

The last part of King season was consistent with week 3. Strikes and gutters, but some nice fish made it to the net and smiles were a daily occurrence. Trout season is now upon us and great things are about to happen! Here is a photo of some week 4 chrome.

Week 3 and a half

The past week of King fishing on the Kasilof has been inconsistent, however, the guides of Drift Away Fishing have still been able to find some great fish and come away with a few limits. Only 3 more days remain for the 2011 King season stay posted for the final results!

NIgel's July King Photos

This past week on the Kasilof was a bit slow, but nice fish still came to our boats. We expect the fishing to pick up this week, the tides are dropping and many Kings are stacking up outside the Kasilof. Here are some photos from Nigel's July.

1st week of July

The first week of July has been one of the best in years!! Drift Away guides have been getting into some nice fish between 40 and 50 lbs. It seems that Nick has been the ladies man this week with three 42lb girls and one 35lb girl. More pics to come from Jeremy and Nigel.
